Arnica Healing Salve by CW Apothecary
Arnica salve is a must-have in any natural first aid kit. Arnica is a plant of the daisy family that bears yellow daisy like flowers. Arnica flowers and roots have been used for hundreds of years and it is
the main ingredient in my salve, along with Hemp Seed Virgin Oil, Coconut oil RBT, all natural Bees Wax, and a little Lavender Essential oil. We start first with our arnica infused oil that we do right here.
Arnica salve is a must-have in any natural first aid kit. Arnica is used topically for a wide range of conditions, including bruises, sprains, muscle aches, wound healing, superficial phlebitis, joint pain, inflammation from insect bites, and swelling from broken bones. Arnica oil has been known to improve carpal tunnel and help to treat osteoarthritis. More recent studies suggest it may also be helpful in the treatment of burns. Arnica is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains a wide array of inflammation-fighting plant compounds, such as sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, and phenolic acids. As such, it's believed to help with pain management.
Here are some uses of a Arnica Healing Salve
- Bumps and bruises – we use this a lot in the wintertime when we’re ice skating on our pond!
- Sore muscles – after a big workout, a long day in the garden, or cleaning out stalls, this is the best salve to rub on tired shoulders and muscles.
- Aches – some people like to use this for painful joints, such as arthritis, as the anti-inflammatory properties can help bring relief.
- Tension headaches – one of my favorite uses for this salve is for tension headaches. If I get sore shoulders or an achy neck, sometimes that leads to a headache, so I like to rub this salve all over my neck and shoulders to help bring relief.
Hemp Seed Oil - Organic
Hemp is increasingly popular as a remedy for a range of conditions including skin issues and stress. It may contain properties that contribute to reduced risks of illnesses like Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular disease, though additional research is necessary. Hemp oil may also reduce inflammation in the body. Hemp seed oil is rich in linoleic acid. Studies have shown that eating a diet high in linoleic acid significantly reduces total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or “bad” cholesterol. Lowering cholesterol levels reduces your risk of high blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease.
Coconut Oil contains medium-chain fatty acids, has anti-inflammatory properties, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties, and could be helpful in the treatment of skin conditions. Coconut Oil also hydrates, protects, and sooths the skin, minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, It calms temporary redness, provides antioxidants, and is easily absorbed in the skin.
Natural Organic Bees Wax
Organic beeswax has strengthening, relaxing, anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, and anti-microbial properties.
All of these combined makes a wonderful salve and is a must in your house.
